Aaron & The Hamburger

OK - I acknowledge that I had to tell a white lie to be able to record this meltdown, but it was worth it. The video gives a glimpse of our life with our little man, Aaron.

This not-so-hidden camera reveals just how single-tracked his mind can be and how quickly he can switch tracks and hop onto another line. Thankfully this train derailed to a happier place. Chugga-chugga choo-choo!

Does anybody out there speak 'hamburger-stuck-in-your-mouthish'?

Birkthday!

As discussed below, Rachel recently celebrated her 6th birthday. Up until a week or so before her birthday Rachel had always misprounced that special day as 'birkthday'. Because of this I was inspired to release a new track.

Here's DJ Bob's latest.

Frist week of School

Danny and Rachel started 2nd and 1st grade this week. They loved it. They love their teachers and had fun eating lunch at school and meeting new friends. They've both already had comments from their teachers about what good kids they are. Aaron started preschool. He's in a four-year-old preschool class because I couldn't find any three-year-old ones with open spots. But he loved it and his teacher said he did great.

Last week he really enjoyed riding his bike. We went out several times each day, even though it's still over 105 degrees every day.

These are just cute pictures I had to include. (check out the rolls on Seth's thighs!)

Camping Trip

This weekend we went camping to celebrate the end of Summer. We went to Cathedral Gorge in the middle of Nevada. It was still a little too hot for camping there, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves, but it wasn't too bad because there was a natural spring there with a pool and playground, so we hung out there in the heat of the day. We grilled hot dogs for dinner and made smores at night. They all slept pretty well, despite being sweaty for the first hour or so until it cooled off. The next day we did lots of exploring and climbing. And then we ended the trip with a slurpee.

Rachel is 6

Today is Rachel's birthday. She had a great, girly party with her friends. They made necklaces and did their nails. She had a pinata and played musical chairs. Such fun!

We're so grateful to have Rachel in our family. She is so kind and loving. She's a great cheerleader for our family and loves to make others feel good about themselves. She's a great reader and is excited to start the first grade. Her favorite things to do include reading, playing with her brothers, swimming, playing with her collection of webkinz, and drawing and making things. She's very obedient and tries so hard to do the right things. She has a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and isn't afraid to tell anyone about her beliefs. We love you so much Rachel!

Kids today

Aaron

Aaron loves Seth so much! He's always sad when Seth has a nap and he can't wait for him to wake up. The other day Seth woke up from his nap so I asked Aaron to go talk to him until I could get him. Aaron gets a stool and plays with Seth in his crib quite often. So a few minutes later Rachel went in and found Aaron asleep and Seth awake next to him. We've also been on a little roller coaster of thumb sucking with Aaron this summer. We've been so close to done two times now. He'll go two or three weeks without sucking and then decide he's done and go back to it. And when he's gone back to thumb sucking he's gotten sick both times. This time I got sick too. So we're really fighting that thumb now. I went online and found some really gross stuff to paint on his thumb. So far it's working. I hope the third time's the charm.
