Seth is One!

Seth turned one year old yesterday. It's gone so fast. We celebrated by having pizza and chocolate cake. He knew just what to do with the cake too, until the frosting got in the way. It got so stuck all over his hands that it distracted him from eating the cake. Then he started smearing it all over and throwing it.

Then we opened presents. The other kids were just as excited about this part. He got a firetruck that talks, a ball blower toy and some Mr. Potato heads. He did a good job helping unwrap and he loved the chaos and fun while everyone played with the toys amidst all the wrapping and boxes.

Seth is such a wonderful boy. He's so happy and mild. He loves his silkies ("gigies") and reading books. He also loves anything we use a lot--the computer keyboard and mouse, all the phones and remotes and the piano. He's having fun learning to walk and can't get enough of holding my fingers to get around. He loves his brothers and sister and puts up with their constant hugs and kisses. He's such a sweet boy and he's a great snuggler. We love you, Seth!

Rachel

Yesterday Rachel told me these are the things she wanted:
  • to be an artist
  • to be a horse trainer
  • a dog
  • be 16
  • know how to drive
  • her own phone
What?! Rachel, I want you to get all of these things, but you are six and you need to stay that way forever! The other day she also told me she just got her 15th boyfriend. All she told me was that he's in her class and he drooled at PE. (I hope she gets a little more discerning as she gets older)

Also, last week, Rachel and I went on a girls date with Kata and Savannah Dean to see Disney on Ice. It was wonderful. Rachel loved the part with Ariel the best. I loved sitting with Rachel the best.(In our first attempt at this picture, Rachel's eyes were closed, so she made sure they're open in this one!)

Also, I love this picture. This is how we roll in the cougar-blue van:

Conversations in the back of the van

Rachel: Would you rather marry a girl or a rice crispy treat? If you marry a girl you get to have babies.
Aaron: Rice Crispy Treat!

Rachel: Would you rather throw up on an ant and die or not throw up on an ant and not die?
Aaron: Throw up on an ant and die.
Rachel: You want to die?
Aaron: Yeah, I've been on this land a long time.
